PreK Registration Now Open

Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS) is now accepting applications for its 2026–27 Integrated Preschool (IPK), Voluntary Pre‑Kindergarten (VPK) and Peer Model programs. The application window runs February 3–March 13, 2026. These Pre-K programs offer high‑quality early learning opportunities designed to support kindergarten readiness and foster academic, social, and developmental growth.

Integrated Preschool (IPK) – The Integrated Preschool program serves children ages 3–4 in inclusive classroom settings where students with disabilities learn alongside typically developing peers. Classrooms are led by certified special education educators and emphasize early learning, social skills, and kindergarten readiness.

Voluntary Pre‑Kindergarten (VPK) – The VPK program is open to children who are 4 years old by August 15 and who meet the state’s definition of at‑risk. VPK provides a full‑day learning experience designed to help students build the foundational skills needed for school success.

Peer Model Pre-K Program – MCS’s Integrated Preschool includes opportunities for peer models. Peer models are typically developing children who participate in inclusive classrooms alongside peers with disabilities. Peer models help support language, social, and behavioral development through positive examples and engagement.
